ME

i perfectly know
i have been hurt
by her unreachable sunshine.

i was walking on the hot coals
of my personal hell,
living in the shadow
of the glimpses of heaven
i desperately reached out for.

and now you're still wondering if i made it.

i couldn't have done much about it,
but now i can sleep peacefully at night.

better late than never,
i have finally loosened
the tangled strings of my heart.

About this poem

If “Her” was about dwelling on the past lover, this poem answers to it through a mature and healed point of view.
