Siñora Ana Ayuyu Sablan was born on the beautiful island of Luta on January 25, 1937. She is a retired nurse of over 30 years. She wrote this poem with her granddaughter, Siñora Carmen Barcinas Sablan-He, who is a Chamorro and Carolinian Language & Heritage Studies (CCLHS) Instructor at William S. Reyes Elementary School.
