Oh this Careless heart

Jumping from chair to chair
Not caring if they fall
While waiting for the music to stop

Pledging eternity to one and another
While hoping maybe this time
The love will last a little while longer

Thinking of secrets whispered and lover's words
Yet all the while in peaceful conscience
Laying in the arms of another

Tearing the wings off this eagle
Yet unable to answer when he asks why

Unable to control the fire inside
Watching as the sparks jump out
