The Pains Of Love

Have you felt the pains of love
In the marrow of your bones,
And like the solitary dove
Felt so terribly alone?

Have you suffered a broken heart
That took from you all joy,
And words could not impart
The pain that you employed?

Did it take from you all hope
Of ever living again?
Were you emotionally broke?
Did you want your life to end?

Now, imagine if you will
What Christ felt on the cross,
Who loves us all still
Even the ones He's lost.

For what we felt for one
He feels for us all.
Surely, only God's son
Could endure such a maul.

Only the infinite love of God
Could endure that great pain,
And still rise from the sod
To live and walk again.

So, the next time you feel blue
Just remember this test,
That He went through for you
And then be you, at your best.
