The Monster

I walk among people
And wonder what they see
Do they see the friendly exterior
Or the monster inside of me

I talk to people
And some call me friend
But I always wonder how long till
They see the monster at the end

I hangout with people
And always try to hide
The anger and frustration
Coming from the monster inside

I meet a beautiful young lady
And wonder how long
Till her love turns to fear
Of the monster I have caged up for so long

I sit my room
And do my Bible reading
Learning how to kill the monster
My anger has been feeding

As I read my Bible
It finally dawns on me
That only through Jesus Christ
I can kill the beast and be free

Now this beast's name is flesh
But it's also known as humanity
And Jesus died to pay the price
And save me from my vanity
