Night-Owlry

If you could see me now...
That's a persistent thought
A hypothetical world since 2009
Where I've lived with a feeling I never lost

Recently I noticed how
Heretics fortified our likeness in a rum branch
But like a large wind, rotten luck just blew it away
I wasn't ready for that

I was finally learning who you were
And in the most peculiar way
It was close to 2am, I think
So why not make cinnamon rolls?

No one's ever made me feel so at ease
So proud of myself, of my thoughts
I can see us in that room
Where I had the colloquy of my life

There was so much to say
And there's mountains more today
But you're gone

If you could only see me now...
