Night Walk

Two years into love
and our walk is habit

(the dogs are simply tame
and the black river, pretty).

Yes, yes, we're 'holding hands
under the eternal stars forever.'

But...I look for a shadow
I haven't yet seen.

Will we see the dogs as dogs,
and the black river, black?

I tempt at chance.

If our love is love
we'll dance.
