My Christmas Dream

Before Christmas was a dream
For gifts as good as ice cream
Wise men sought a star to the King
Born by a queen yet to bring
Us all David's rock to sling
At death and the Devil to sting
My hammer on Lucifer's wing
Will pound salvation's nail to ding
Satan's head to death's crossbeam
Our King to come for us to sing
This, like every Christmas, I do dream
