Motherhood

As I wait in anticipation for the birth,
of my first born.
I sit and wonder if the baby is a boy or girl.
Dannielle Elizabeth or Cameron Michael,
are the names I dream.
As this new life kicks inside my tummy.
Like a rollercoaster on a journey.
Time passes slowly by as I prepare.
To become a member of this club,
Called MOTHERHOOD.
Like so many generations before, the name
Mother makes me proud.
Soon my life will change forever,
I will no longer be alone.
Mother and child as one,
Like the steady beat of a drum.
