Little Girl Lost

As I sit here with a heavy heart,
the tears build in my eyes,
I wonder how I managed
to let the years slip by.
I wanted only the best for you,
and now your all but grown,
I finally figured out that
you did it on your own.
I wanted you to know the Lord,
and yet I simply failed.
I don't know how I did it,
I know I let you down,
I only hope you someday,
still will wear the Crown.
You are my little girl lost,
and I always blame myself,
how did I let this happen?
I put you on a shelf.
