flo
Sitting at the diner
caffiene sugar cream
jukebox in the corner
like an old movie scene
waitress keeps em comin
her name could be flo
she asks how im doin
but im sure she already knows
she talks about the weather
but the look in her eyes
says somethin beautiful
that words just cant describe
dont stop the small talk flo
ask about the rain
you take my pain
and make beauty
out of the mundane
she asks if a girl
is joining me
I tell her no
she says “well there should be”
I tell her thank you
for the flattery
she says no problem
I call them like I see
I say well tonight
its just my book and caffiene
she said they wont make you a fool
and its all that you need
then she says
it looks like it might rain
she sees right through me
becaause we share the same pain
there flo goes again
making beauty out of the mundane
when Ive finished reading
I asked her for the check
I left her a big tip
and she smiled as I left
as I hit the door
she said watch out for that rain
one last time making beauty
out of the mundane
as I walked to my car
I realized I forgot her name
but thats not important to know
because ill remember her beauty
and to me shell always be
flo
