First Day Of Summer
Met Summer in the afternoon,
Of a sunny day in late June,
Saw her there, she caught my eye,
I walked up, she said "Hi",
"Maybe tomorrow, we'll go out,
Have some fun, baby scream and shout",
'Cause the worlds alive,
With the stars in my eyes,
And I'm feeling like,
It's a new surprise,
The sun is shining,
And the sky is bright,
Whatever it brings,
Or where I am tonight,
I'm hearing the beat,
Of a brand new drummer,
It's the first day of Summer
I held her close, she let down her guard,
We watched the fireflies dance in the yard,
To the beat of our hearts, playing a tune,
Surrendering to love 'neath the silver moon,
The taste of the rain, on her skin,
How I would long to hold her again,
'Cause the world was alive,
With the stars in her eyes,
And I felt like,
It was a new surprise,
The sun was shining,
And the sky was bright,
Whatever it brought,
Or where i was that night,
I heard the beat,
Of a brand new drummer,
On the first day of Summer
Summer fading on a cloudy day,
Still can't believe, she slipped away,
The winds of change, bitter and cold,
Our happy ending, going untold,
Autumn rain, falling in my heart,
Thinking back, back to the start,
When the world was alive,
With the stars in my eyes,
And I felt like,
It was a new surprise,
The sun was shining,
And the sky was bright,
However it brought,
Me here tonight,
I heard the beat,
Of a brand new drummer,
Through the days of Summer
