First Born

He finds his love, his destiny.
She looks at him lovingly,
dependently, sincerely.
In time's future.
His need for me has
grown short.
His manhood defined.
Myself in time past.
His dependence on me
is frayed with maturity.
I long for the absence
of his childlike youth.
This life from my womb
has taken flight.
To create his own eternal life.
With all the experiences of my time.
