Final Chance

Through darkness a single glimpse
Of hope has shined
A final chance to undo the years
Of pain it has wind
Like a single drop flowing where
The river has run dry
Like a final smile amidst
The pain of which I cry
And though the end is
Imminent and near
That final chance is what
I hold most dear
