Day and Night

Day

The beautiful daylight gathered up lightning,
a sure smile walked boldly across this face:
swept with pure freedom's delicate dance; fighting
joy for a place on clouds under cold space.

Sweet delight fashioned itself on wise grace
which roared fiery love along a wind; biting,
birds I watched as they folded wings to pace
down towards honeyed laughter; grins flew right in.

And Angels played their music in the air,
breath skipped a beat and caught a gorgeous squalling
of God's white sigh; structured with passion, care.

A vision appeared in chalk art's pure calling
that decorated the stones in a tear,
wonder caught sight of vast Heaven's rope; falling.

Night

The nightly wonder consumed this cold being,
a sad fist of shade; broken with wide loss,
quick intricate sorrow laughed caution; feeling
fine wisps of mad thought wrapped in bitter moss.

Wild winds howled passion out towards dawn's gloss,
dark screams bounced along torture's heated breathing,
then red pain sought grief's beauty on the cross,
cool pleasure whips at the mind's gracious weeping.

And fear grinned mock concern which sparkled light
through the heart's beats that called for silent mooring
bliss; release from gaol's grey powerful might.

A roar of anguish slipped past tears' fast pouring,
brown teeth of desperation came to bite,
time would not again send whispered sighs touring.
