Beautiful Changes

Sleepy dreams die,
My heart will no longer lie,
These stone eyes of mine won’t cry,
For I already have a guy.
I need someone to walk on the sand,
Loving, by me he will stand,
Hand in hand,
And, after a while, he’ll understand.
We can’t keep going
With me not knowing,
Without my soul growing,
While the wind is blowing.
I’m perfectly fine,
It’s not your fault or mine,
We just weren’t aligned,
It wasn’t our design.
Soon you’ll be leaving,
And I won’t be grieving,
My shoulders won’t be heaving,
Because I’ve stopped believing.
You’re in my life like a brother,
To teach me lessons like no other,
To fill the place of another,
One who will not smother.
You’ll be far away,
It might be better that way,
Though I’ll miss you every day,
Here I am, content to stay.
