Dark Side Of The Heart

I sit in the darkness pondering my
future with my heart in my hands
tracing the tracks that detailed my train
stumbling upon what I thought my life
needed but ultimately hung my head
In disappointment upon finding out the
home wasn't the right fit

I walk through the ashes of words
melted in the heat of the moment
In search of the reasoning behind
the conjured chaos only finding a
bridge set ablaze with innocent smiles
trapped in the middle choking on the
smoke I pray one day clears

I watch as my mistakes turn into paper excuses
spat from the mouth of the lion stuck between
the lines of lies crossed and implemented into
a story gutted and turned inside out with every
emotion drowning in the fake tears of a ghost
burning the face of a corpse and claiming It
along with it's background screaming for attention

I open my eyes to see the beautiful opportunities
placed before me and stand upon my word as I
start to build my legacy laughing at the jealous
imbeciles trying to tear me down with overused
themes proving themselves to be a joke even smaller
under a microscope but virtually acting as the fuel
for my inspiration
