Night Fire

Night Fire

Sitting by the fire being warmed by the flame drawn to the embers and the power of Your Name.
Gathered in the night hour with my fears as they may be ,Trusting in Your nearness and the safety that is Thee.

I am here, Lord. I am here. Lord, I am here.

Now all that burns I smell right there, so much like my desire.
Lord, is it sweet and honoring of you or just something from the mire.
If need be, burn off that sin and take my spirit higher. I want to go higher.

I am here, Lord. I am here. Lord, I am here.

Present in the night, darkness all around. Shame beneath the surface while my face is to the ground.
A sudden crack from the fire, a sound invoking sight
Your Spirit there reminds me all will be alright.

I am here, Lord. I am here. Lord, I am here.

The night has many voices calling out to me Purpose of distraction from which I must be free
Reminders of an old life, as if they do decree.
Rebuke this noise that comes, Dear God as I draw near to Thee.

I am here, Lord. I am here. Lord, I am here.

Many in like manner simply gather here Occupying time and space with agendas that aren't clear
Often, I will ask myself why it is I come. My needs are met, and I'm made secure by the hope that is Your Son.

I am here, Lord. I am here. Lord, I am here.

Just as I am without one plea, a song I love so dear.
But that Your blood was shed for me gives reason to draw near.
Because you bid me come to Thee, oh Lord, I come. I come. Lord, So glad to come.

I am here, Lord. I am here. Lord, I am here.
