The game I’ve played since before you died
Is Requiring
An update.

But you saw the ad for
This Version.

This Version
Is what you called and told me about.
You said,
“I think you’ll like it, since you like decorating.”

You knew
Me.

(The only one who ever has.)

But now I’m required to update to
Keep
Playing.
But it won’t be the Same

Without You.

About this poem

This poem was written about my darling Mother, Virginia, who passed away in 2020 after a long battle with COPD. May she rest in peace. She was my best friend and I miss her dearly everyday. I gave her a tablet to play games and use social media on to keep her spirits up while she was chair-bound. We played word games together daily.
