The Class Ring
Wendy A. Rogers Ayers. 1973 (Easley, SC)
Close to the doorway, he step to stand, as he took the class ring from her hand. No one who was watching dared to speak, as a silent tear ran down his cheek. Moments grew slow, as the crowd seemed blue. Then the door flew open, and it was time to go. Thoughts of their love went through his head. More and more tears he began to shed. The air was so cold as time was a steady flow. They picked up her casket and carried it into the snow.
