Motherhood swallowed me

It’s teeth weren’t sharp, nor scary,
and I was never afraid

As I slipped down the flower filled throat of motherhood, my life began

The belly of motherhood is bright, it’s shiny, it’s open

it’s filled with embraces I have needed my whole life, kisses I will cherish for the whole of mine

Motherhood took my body, but it gave me eyes

These eyes see the beauty of my daughter
