In the Tomb

In the tomb of his love, he lies,
Every night, until the sun shall rise.
She died of the plague, so cruel and unkind,
But her lover, he cannot leave her behind.

The darkness of the tomb, it does not scare,
For her love, it still lingers there.
The rats may scurry and the air may chill,
But he remains, steadfast and still.

Her beauty, it still remains,
Though death has claimed her mortal chains.
Her skin, so pale, her lips, so cold,
In her lover's arms, she will forever hold.

For he cannot live without her by his side,
In death, they shall forever abide.
His heart, it beats only for her,
In the tomb of his love, he will never stir.

The world may forget their love so true,
But in the tomb, they will start anew.
Their love, it will forever be,
In the darkness of the tomb, for eternity.

About this poem

This poem was written about a man whose lover died from the plague but he just simply cannot live without her, so he sleeps in her tomb every night, that way they are never apart. I got this idea after watching true crime cases and intold stories of the ER.
