A RIGHTER.

MR.P The Silent Poet 2001 (MUBENDE)

My pen bleeds✍

About this poem

This poem is about the power of writing and the role of the poet/writer as a "RIGHTER" - someone who uses the written word to heal, cure, and refine the soul, body, mind, and society. The key themes and messages in the poem are: 1. Writing as a cathartic and transformative act - "My pen bleeds, My ink purges, My word refines" suggests the writer's words are a form of emotional and spiritual release. 2. Writing as a healing process - "I write to cure, The soul, body, and mind" indicates the writer's belief that the act of writing can have a therapeutic and restorative effect. 3. Writing as a tool for social change - "I write to heal, The society to it's core" conveys the idea that the writer sees their role as using the written word to address and improve societal issues. 4. The writer's self-identification as a "RIGHTER" - this pun suggests the writer sees themselves as someone who not only writes but also has the power to "right" or correct wrongs through their writing. Overall, the poem celebrates the transformative power of the written word and the writer's ability to use language as a means of personal, emotional, and social healing and betterment. The poet positions themselves as a conduit for this process, a "RIGHTER" who wields the pen as a tool for positive change.
