An admired heart
Why present thee upon thine altar,
When thine only need was upon thine eyes of another,
Forbidden to see such wonderous sight,
Just to see another smile in delight,
Rarely have we argued and each other denied,
So in spirit upon my knees to ask in kind,
A love that is gone no longer is broken,
Admire the loss to a future that is unbroken,
Have ye seen the eyes of sorrowful in a soulless,
Ponder as one might for a hello and a slight notice,
Inarguably without shame or guilt of a path that's broken,
Still a smile for thine eyes to glow unnoticed.
About this poem
This poem illustrated that even a broken heart has an unrequited love that is rarely expressed.
