A cat “Lost in Time”

“Lost in Time”

She’d lost track of time and was missing for days, for spring had arrived and enticed her away, but her tummy was rumbling and she needed a rest; the green dewy grass didn’t taste the best.

So, dancing through the bluebells sweet, she headed home for a meaty treat, but the sound of a snap through the emerald leaves, made her pause en-route to retreat.

Diverting her path wild eyes scoured the plain, curiosity had won once again, and with a tiptoe and a leap over the purple haze, she was back in the woods; lost in a daze.

She spied the magpies engrossed in their chatter; worried hearts at home didn’t matter, for there was too much to see, so much to thrill, a place full of wonder where time stands still.

About this poem

As an avid cat lover and artist a lot of my work is studying cats, including my own pet who is often my subject for artwork and my writings. Thus piece is about a cat lost in a daze; family frantic at home as she has been missing for days. Is she lost? Hurt? Not this one! She distracted in bluebell woods by the beauty of spring. Childhood memories.
