Graveside
Surrounded by people I’m sat here alone
The silence of many their stories on show
Words are not spoken feelings are shared
The start and the end, life’s, are laid bare.
Calmness I feel my thoughts are of you
Sat here alone my memories are true
Reflections of sadness, grief and despair
Peace & tranquillity, float through the air.
The young and the old all come here to lay
Verses are written & forever displayed
No words can I find or explain how I feel
Deep from within my pain is concealed.
I know you are close, never too far away
Never forgotten that’s what the words say
Beside me you walk, you live on in our hearts
Still loved, still missed now we are apart.
I know you are not here as I tend the grave
This special place where we parted our ways
In heaven you reside until reunited one day.
Sat here alone, it’s all I wanted to say!
Forever missed, Forever loved, Never Forgotten.
