Carheart

I hopped in the car to race to you,
Ignition turned and engine revving loosely,
E-brake released while my foot was on the brake,
Seat belt on and reversed into the driving lane,
Pressed on the gas pedal and slammed the clutch,
1st Gear, I was thinking how I loved you so much...
Gave gas again and slammed the clutch...
Engine revving as the switch came up,
2nd Gear, I was thinking how fast can I go without a crash to get crushed,
Engine revving again and then slammed the clutch...
3rd Gear, I was thinking how I miss so much,
Flying down the street revving over 45 to feel my heart buck...
Slammed the clutch wondering if I'll survive,
4th Gear clicked and I was scared going so fast that I'll splatter if I run into a big truck,
RPMs hitting seven thousand in a few,
Slammed the clutch and switched to the last gear to get to you,
5th Gear topped and hyper-drive swiftly hit...
Clocking 60 - 75 mph like a screeching burn out,
Zigs and zags to get close to where you are,
Just to be able to hold and say words I rarely say at all,
In hopes of a return of maybe if I meant anything at all,
If not, oh well, may we meet again and thank you,
Hope all is well in the future without me as a close friend.
