The View from my window

Tonya Richardson 1968 (Mississippi)

I guess you could say that I live in a bubble, getting dressed and going out just seems like too much trouble.
All I have to do is think about it and I am filled with panic, pounding heart, sweaty palms, a wave of nausea, it’s all so traumatic.
My mind racing with thoughts of all that could possibly go wrong, the fear of what’s out there is always so strong.
In my mind the fear distorts reality, and it feels like everyone is staring at me.
It feels like with looks and whispers they are judging, I feel safe in my bubble so that’s why I’m not budging.
For most of my life It has felt like I’ve been stuck in limbo, my whole life has just been the view from my window.
