Life in Beauty

Lindsay Mayeux 1992 (United States of America)

There is life in beauty
The light in her eyes,
The hope in his heart,
The sigh of relief,
And joyous weeping,
Laughter that fills the air,
Without a care,
Even the sweet sound of your name,
Called from a loved one

There is beauty in life,
If only we took a moment,
To Be Still and

This poem reminds me so many times of how I stopped and took notice of the most simple form of beauty: a flower like a rose or a Lotus blossom. Every now and then the same feeling comes over me when I notice a beautiful woman. Even if I don’t know her name, there is something about her that shines beyond her physical beauty and reminds me that taking notice in itself is a very special moment like a miracle

Thank you! I'm glad it can be related to in everyday life. God is beautiful and His work is everywhere.

You have the ability to say in simple and direct terms what many cannot say with long-winded, complicated and verbose poetry. If you keep writing, I expect you will find yourself paired with the likes of Whitman and Updike.

    I'm just not saying this.
But your poems are exactly the ones I look for. They're pure.
