Prayer from a rescued animal

Now I lay me down to sleep
My bed is warm and deep

My mom and dad are here
Nothing for me to fear

I have food, I have love
I prayer to you above

Thank you for this my home
For You I write this poem

About this poem

I've been rescuing dogs and cats all my life. Whenever I see a newly rescued animal settle in for their first good deep sleep I think about what they must be feeling. This summarizes what I believe is in their heads
