Today

Terri Carrier 1981 (Saint John)

Today I woke up missing you.. I  didn't know quite what to say..
Wishing I could hear your voice.. saying your proud of me today..
Today I woke up thinking.. how could it have been this long..
Cause it felt like only yesterday I woke up and you were gone..
Today I woke up crying.. this just didn't feel the same..
I felt like part of me had vanished..I can barely say your name..
Today I woke up smiling.. because within me your always here..
I tell everyone about you, so your memory is always near..
There's not a day that passes, where I don't recall a time.
That I had you for a moment, but that moment is no longer mine..
And this doesn't happen all the time, that I feel I've lost my way..
It's only when I'm missing you.. and that just happened to be today
