Fifty Years
Gary Mummert 1950 (New Oxford, PA)
Fifty years of toil and tears and many fears through fifty years.
Fifty years of steadfast love from mom to dad and back again for fifty years.
The time has passed oh so fast, can it really be for mom and me--fifty years?
The kids have grown, we live alone, but oh what pride we feel inside for fifty years.
We've tussled, laughed and given baths,
we've planted, reaped, lost plenty of sleep,
through fifty years
Now looking back, through thick and thin we did our best to fight and win for fifty years.
That's history, now we forge ahead,
providing the glue and being the thread.
Assisting the family, both kids and grands
to take the heat and always to stand.
From Terry, Gary, Rick and Mel
We love you both, you've raised us well.
With God your anchor, prayer your guide
congratulations, we swell with pride for your fifty years.
We could have been born in another time,
to people of wealth or a family of crime,
but God heard your prayer and we're blessed to be,
part of Paul and Ferne Mummert's family.
Now the goal's seventy-five so "Look Alive"!
2017 is what we mean.
You've breezed through fifty and learned to survive,
what's another measly twenty-five?
On a serious note, we love you both,
you'll always be key to our history.
Don't magnify failures just look at each kid,
we're serving the Lord because of what you did,
for fifty years!
