The lord carry’s my pain

My mind like a flooded lake
Every time I breathe blood pumps Through my veins and another Bad memory rushes to my brain
I could still feel the pain
I know I’m not the one to blame
But what if it was me in the way
In the way of that bullet that that so quickly took my best friends life away
Or my in the way of that hand my father threw at my mother with reckless aim but still managing to send her to the floor with a cry out in pain
I know I’m not to blame but what if I was in the way
And I would wonder everyday will these thoughts ever escape my brain
Or will I always have that feeling of wishing I was in the way
At night I would lay and rehear that bang
That bang that took everything away
But I know why I wasn’t in the way
It’s because god doesn’t play
He doesn’t play about his children who pray everyday
So please give your life away
Give your life away to the lord
So he can carry your pain
These thoughts no longer haunt my brain
And the lord is the only one to thank
