The Horse A Gift From God

The Horse, A Gift From God

What splendid beauty such creatures as horses are
in their majesty as they stand in green pastures under
the night stars
Compare the noise and neon lights of the dirty
city streets,
With a mare softly nickering her foal to sleep

Never be in such a hurry to stop and appreciate the beauty of
this creature in a field
Or how a foal frolicking in a pasture can bring traffic to
a stand still.

The lessons learned on a horse farm are remembered
with fondness as age creeps in
Like how a picturesque sunrise can make a perfect day
or a beautiful sunset can bring peace at days end

The penny-wise and pound foolish theory of buying the
best hay
And how the night sky can take your breath away at the end of a day

Do not take good health for granted is a lesson to heed,
Oh' the weight of water buckets and how painful frozen
fingers and toes can be.

Keep your over head low and your expectations high
is the norm
Because as the saying goes 'Sh-t happens on a horse farm'

Be tough minded but tendered hearted as you maneuver
the course
And it's OK to grieve for a friend even though its a horse.

Take time to smell the roses before you bid this world adieu
And remember that wishes made while blowing out birthday
candles can sometimes come true

Because God granted us a chance to see
His full length feature, the Horse
So be grateful that you were given the chance
to experience this magnificent creature with all it's
beauty, power and force.
