Perfectly Broken

Perfectly Broken? Nothing hurts like a memory that is in everything you see why are you so perfect and well I’m just broken me. You had me at hello and I broke down at goodbye. I can’t help but taste you in every single tear that I cry. Loving you was easy, losing you made me see. I’d take my last breath to watch you smile again with me. How I’d give anything to taste you again, to feel your body next to mine. To devour everything about you and touch your soft skin. I wouldn’t change a thing, you’re perfect by design. But I’m left with this heartache the pain I can’t come to bare, I would have given you the world side by side the perfect pair. Now I hold you in my memories, your lips I long to kiss…. How did it become so hard, how did we come to this. Breaking from the inside, but my love remains the same, the reason for my being you’re like poison in my veins. You seduce me in my thoughts and punish me in my dreams. I close my eyes and see you, but when open you’re still not there, the darkness is my friend for the hurt I cannot bare. You are my drug of a choice, a sweet addiction I can’t control, piercing through my body, capturing my soul. You stole me with your eyes, and made me crave for even more. I couldn’t get enough, like an addict awaiting the next score. I had shivers, sweats, falling to my knees, I couldn’t get enough no matter how hard I try. It all started with those enchanting, alluring, soulful eyes. When I disappoint you, I feel sadness because I don’t mean to be this way. I didn’t understand you now in heartbreak I must pay. Loving you was easy, you took my breath away. I’d give anything to have you back, but can never force you to stay. I wish I could go back and turn it all around, because it wasn’t until I lost you that I realized what I had truly found. I know I’ve made mistakes, some you can’t and won’t forget. I never meant to hurt you, cause you pain, or make you feel upset. I only wanted to hand you the world, and build it up around you since the first day that we met. So yes I’ve made mistakes it’s not the end of the world, but this time it was because it cost me the most amazing girl. The question is not how much I love you, but how will I ever stop. You are the poems within my head and the songs within my heart. Our souls dancing together to the rhythm, never to drift apart. I can’t turn back time or never promise another mistake, but your love I can promise nobody will ever replace. Nothing hurts like a memory that is in everything you see why are you so perfect and well I’m just broken me.

About this poem

This was written for my ex we have had an on off relationship. I know she is my soulmate and this is me just writing to tell her how I feel And how special she is. Her eyes are the most amazing things and when she looks at me I know the love is still there trapped inside.
