Fish Delight

If I could wish
On a shooting star
I'd wish for a fish
And I know that sounds bizarre

But I quite like fish
I really, really do.
I like them on a dish
And in a tank too.

Fish of all kinds
Red, blue, and yellow
With all types of lines
Just like my old fellow

His name was Fido
A wee little thing
He sadly kind of died though
My son he died a king.

Things went to the wayside
They got a little strange
After he died I sat there and cried
Wishing that things could change.

My dear mother consoled me
And told me to go have dinner.
Past my tears I could see.
That this meal was a winner.

I ate with gusto.
What dish made me flourish?
Well, if you really must know.
It was my favorite, delicious fish!

About this poem

Initially meant to be a poem about teenage angst, this poem took a turn and became something a bit... weird. You'll get it if you read it.
