The Devil on my Shoulder

Trista Martin 2005 (Illinois)

His eyes tell truth,
but his voice tells lies.
His eyes say it's okay,
but his aura says otherwise.
His eyes whisper protection,
but he does not protect me.
His eyes are so attractive,
but his way of life is so horrid.
His eyes tell me there is hope,
but when he nears me there is none.
His eyes serenade freedom,
but as long as he is near there is no such thing.
He needs to leave,
but he won't listen.
He hurts my brain,
and that is what taunts me.
And if he does leave,
his memory will haunt me.
His eyes are blue like the sea,
but only when the waves are high and mighty.
That is the moment I realized he was menacing.
I am well over due for someone more superior.
He has to go one way or another.
