Saved

I was born in a city
Where the people were really pretty
Then raised in the country
Where the monsters were
savagely hungry
Nightmares became reality
And faith was my only sanity
I was scared and unsure
About the demons that lured
Why did they want me
Taunt me?
Darkness is were they preyed
I was victim to their hate
For a lightness deep within
That was buried deep beneath my skin
Then God found me and heard my cries
He told me not to listen to their lies
It's was the blood that protected me
That saved me from misery
Now 20 years today
I am no longer afraid
For I looked fear in the face
It was an outline of a man I could trace
He was sorrow and pain
That made the man insane
Love was lost
His heart was frost
But my soul was free
Safe from the grips of a broken destiny
