In A Nutshell

In A Nutshell
By Nancy Rodriquez

Letting go of us has been the loneliest  journey ever,
It is a long winding road   to travel,
My heart wishes to  repair the damage to us,
and stop the insanity,
It is not beneath me to gravel,
The stench from trying has me dying inside,
your love gave me everything in which to be happy,
and within my weariness, I want to curl up and hide,
I feel as if you  told many lies,
and  I did not know you after all,
Was I holding you back all the while?
I thought I was enough  before our fall,
Was I cramping your style?
My head hurts from reasoning too much,
and I have cried too many tears to count,
losing you is as if  losing my sense of touch,
a blow to my heart I have found,
In a nutshell, it is what it is, a painful time of life.
