UNTITLED

Linda Reid 1945 (Galveston)

Blue green swirls
  smacked with mellow yellow-
   coming down
      all around
   and even in me
    is what I see.

The beauty of life all around me
  the sky, the clouds,
     a butterfly.
I open up to it all
     I fly.

Lying in fresh, green grass
  under an oak tree
feeling a breeze whisper to me-
    It's where I'm meant to
      be right now.

One with nature all around me
  drinking it in-
    I see a rose
      who is my friend-
 it knows me as I
 know it.
and poetry flows
   like living notes of music
    from my very soul.
                      Amen.

I really enjoyed reading this. Simply written, but with an amusing pace and melody. "I see a rose/who is my friend-/it knows me/as I
know it" this verse speaks to me on a cellular level. This is consciousness staring back at itself. Thank you for sharing.
