Eloquent Elation: A Sonnet for Clarissa Candace
Clarissa Candace, my dearest love, thy presence doth
imbue my being with vitality and verve,
a balm for moments of dejection and wroth.
Thy guidance and direction, a treasure trove
of felicity and joy, hitherto unknown
Thy influence doth enable me to see
the radiant star of divinity, shown
by an angelic being crafted in the heavenly sea.
Solitude oft led me to ruminate
on merriment and revelry forsaken,
but through thy tutelage, I now appreciate
the jocularity that was previously mistaken.
Thou art the embodiment of grace divine
and benevolence, forever in my heart entwine,
Thy sagacity and erudition, a treasure fine
Wisdom imparted, previously unknown
Love's intrinsic nature, by thee, is shown
Contentment and felicity now is sown
My existence, through thy influence, has flown
Towards vistas of unimagined expanse,
Forever in my heart, thou art the angel, grand.
