FIRE UNDER THE MOONLIGHT
Living in the dark, together by flambeau,
Together they stood through the highs and lows;
Hoping to see the light while running through an endless underpass.
Their hearts throbbed louder than before, even in the dark.
But seems like the world has forgotten them.
They grew taller as they fell on their knees hard.
Their throbs were more potent than the gunshots;
Neither could the tide blow away their blaze.
No songs or stories on their bravery and withhold;
Seems like the world has forgotten them.
Cut out from the outer world, but close to their hearts
They remembered the nights under moonlight, the drums and music around the bonfires with their daughters and sons now living in Elysian fields;
And the warmth of their beloved ones in the
verdant meadows,
They made them weaker, they made them stronger to run through the dark.
Hasn't the world forgotten them?
Agressively concealed from the foreign lands,
Clueless about their burning flame,
The brave need some candles to join them,
To see their memories around the fire under the moonlight.
We ought not to forget them.
