To Yellow Flower
Every person was flower a bit
But you were more
Springs and falls come and go
You assumed you were dead
You don’t know, there is no meaning
Without the darkness of winter
And the joy of spring
If you were really a flower
Your color would be yellow
In this world where oleander smells magnificent
You were unperfumed
You weren’t an oleander
My beautiful yellow flower
If I would see you while walking
When you're about to be crushed on the roadside
I would spend my hours just watching you
Maybe I would pick and save you
We would walk together in my jacket pocket
We would get on the Karaköy ferry together
We would cry while listening to Kalenderi
We would make poems together
You would write what you heard from my heart
I would write what you whisper to my heart
My dear yellow flower
If I would meet you
If I really meet you
I would protect you
From the seasons, winds and people
I would carry you in my hair
To hear inside my mind
Maybe then you would have silenced those voices
that I couldn't make them quite for years
My yellow flower I want to find you
Perhaps I can’t protect you from falls
Still, I know you can protect me from these colorless people
Even if you don’t smell
Even if you aren’t alive every session
Even if you aren’t the most beautiful flower of the world
You are my dear yellow flower
Please bloom again next spring
I will pray all winter
to find you again
Maybe God let to find each other
I love and miss you
