Memories

Memories remind me of sitting by the beach on a late summer night.
You can hear the waves coming closer and a few seconds later they are so far.
Over and over again.
But you’ll never see the same wave twice.
Some might be high and scary and others might barely even reach and tickle your toes.
And sometimes I wish that I could hold on to these waves forever.
The ones that make me laugh and giggle. Forget about the ones that soak me in fear.

But in the end it doesn’t matter,
because they all come and go.
Over and over again.
