we never stop remembering

I hear the wane of sound
as i sadly look down
life seems hopeless
all i can do is cry
i beg and plea for help
but they cant come soon enough
tears well up in my eyes
and i listen to you take
the last breath
i plea for you to come back to me
this can all be just a bad dream
but my plea was met with silence
why?
my heart hurts
ive sobbed so hard my tears are dry
i feel empty as though nothing is left
i remain an empty shell
crushed under pain and sorrow
my bones feel like they will break
i have no strength left to keep going
why?
still no answers have come my way
but i pull deep within myself
remembering the best i had in life
with you
and it carries me on
it brings me to get out of bed when im tired
it brings me to shower when i havent the strenght
it brings me to eat when i havent hungered in months
it brings me to work when i cant face the people
you may be gone but your memory is all i have
and everyday when i remember you
it is what keeps me going
the idea of what you would havent wanted for me
the idea that someday we will meet again
i wont forget you
so please
when i come home
remember me

I wrote a poem years ago when i was in highschool. it was called forbidden but my poem was stolen online. a teacher ms. commets called me a liar when i told her it was my own. i stopped writting for years after that. I recently was looking at comments from my old poem and saw what an impact my poem had on some people. they said it touched their hearts. I decided after years of not writing i would take a shot at it again. hope you enjoy my work. And don't ever let anyone keep you down no matter how much they hurt you! more…
