Time for a change
by Jennifer Barthiel Law
Why do you hold on to the past?
Don't you know slavery did not last?
My brother Martin Luther King fought for freedom but,
you're so blinded by hate that you can't see the big picture.
You use the fact that your ancestors were bought and traded.
Do you know that they fought for change but this is how you repay them
walking around with your pant halfway down to your ankles, calling your woman names like bitch, whore, and many more, selling drugs on the block, look for a job how there society expect you to work after all you are a mad black brother. Open your eyes and see that you are more than your race.
So be a man let the world know that you are the future. Let them see change when they look at your face. Why are you so mad at the next man? Stop being dumb and let go of the hate and stop using the race card like that's going to seal your faith. My sister our body is a thing of beauty let's cover up, am guilty also but now it's time for a change, we are more than a body and pretty face. We are Queens it doesn't matter your race. Women lets stand we are Strong, Beautiful, Mothers, Sisters, and Daughters. Martin Luther King had a dream where his kids and everyone would not be judge by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. What happened to us? Where did it all go wrong? Instead of all the violence let us remember all the people who wanted racism gone. Ruby Bridges, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Madam C J Walker, Harriet Tubman, Morgan Freeman, but most important let's start with YOU.
