silent light

Paula Zahnke 1973 (massachuseets)

death can call
by a strike of a match while feeling
cold and numb and hurting
inside.

the light of prayer
blinds it
blinds you
can't see because it so bright
you see how bright it is and you follow it
and it guides you as it washes away
everything that was there.

every wrong every right
every day every night
every word
every letter
very spoken in vain.

the silent light comes from above to help you.
to wash away as long as you have faith.
no matter how long you have to wait.
climb hills and mountains and hills.
to get to whom you need and want to be.
the silent guide.
