Deep In The Shadows

So many faces, deep in their thoughts.
Minds racing, thinking of what?
No one knows besides themselves.
But when I look, I see one thing in common.
One similar thought goes through their minds.
Fear.
Fear of the future.
Pain.
The pain of the past.
Hurt.
The hurt of the present.
They're just kids with emotions.
Kids with big hearts, big dreams.
They just don't know how to use it.
They hurt others trying to protect themselves.
And hurt themselves, trying to please others.
But show the world shells.
Their shells of fake smiles, fake laughter, and fake joy.
And most don't see it.
Because it's all hidden, deep in the shadows.
