Drifting

Blank verse
Day breaks on the horizon
Still water hides the violent under tow
Warm reflections skirt across the expanse
Orange Green Purple and Blue
Making their way to froth of the shore
But the gritty sand holds no refuge
For the abandoned travelers
Drawn beneath the drowning tumult
Washing away fingerprints dug deep
In the struggle
And all evidence
Any color was ever there

About this poem

Doing nothing is still a choice. In the midst of social anxiety and deep depression even the sunlight hurts.
