My Angel

Stephanie Lynn Smith 1948 (Seattle, WA)

Free verse
My angel follows
in and out with me.
And what his use could be
is more than I can see.
He stays so close
to whisper good things to me.

My Angel follows me at night.
He watches out for me most unusually.
He keeps me safe
and steers me true.
He lets me know
when to stop,
and when to go.

My Angel is truly
a wonderful thing,
and that’s why he is mine.
